Actually released in 1989, but who's keeping track?

Love this album, ...is dead and stakes is high. Skits were so great. If you are savvy give a listen to "de la remix" too (if you can find it). Thanks! Wish spotify had more de la going on

Maaaaan, at my elementary school it was either NWA or bust.
[NSFW]
Sure it's '88, but what with the whole Balkans situation... You can imagine it took us some time to obtain a copy and make some tape copies for anyone who wanted one.

1) Urgh
2) Just heard that at the pub 30 mins ago. Weird.
3) This is not hip hop!

JFC, De La Soul.
Love with all my heart. Somehow manage to be both the single best and single worst shows I've ever been to.
(Thanks to the audience, not the performance)

Return of the Mack. Heard it during my third beer, thought "Man I haven't heard this in years". I was in London when it came out, and it was played everywhere . Usually right after "Missing" by Everything But the Girl.

Funny, they were also the worst show I've ever been to. Audio stuffed up halfway through, ended up being a 45 minute show.

Man, it took real talent to rap then.
O.P.P. just sounds like it's in a different world from most of the stuff on the radio now.
I've also noticed I've been in grouchy old woman mode lately, so...get off my lawn?

I love them for what they recorded, regardless.
Trying, people.

Buhloone Mind State was right up there with Beastie Boys, in terms of classics.

I work at Urban Outfitters and they play old school hip hop all the time. I love it. Just not much of a fan of the shifts where it's 90s grunge all day long. Gets a bit old.
